About the Show
Academy Musical (Ages 7-13)
In a galaxy far, far away, Luke Warmwater and his aunt, Daft Ada, live a lonely life on their secluded space station, Junction 51. But when Princess Nebula’s ship crash lands into Luke’s bedroom, they soon learn of the evil Umpire and his dark desire to conquer the universe. Along with Toby Wonky Nosebleed, Zak Solo and Nigel the Nookie, they follow Princess Nebula in her rebellion. Aboard the Millennium Penguin, they whizz warp-speed through the galaxy to the Umpire’s High Tower on Planet Wimbledonia. But little do they know, the Umpire is about to strike back!

Audry is 13 and going into 8th grade. She has been in several Shade Tree productions including Robin Hood , How I Became A Pirate , and The Big Bad Musical . She has been in Into the Woods and Robin Hood at her school, too. You can also catch her later this summer in Percy Jackson and the Olympians . Audry is very excited to play the bad guy (mwa-ha-ha-ha!) She is sharing the stage with her sister, Isabella, and has a dog named Murphy. When she’s not shining on stage, she plays lacrosse and enjoys making art. She’d like to cheer on her sister - Go Isabella Bashus!

Along with participating in theater, she enjoys playing violin in orchestra and singing in the school choir, spending time with her friends, playing with her cat Maybelle, and eating gummy bears. She also enjoys Dance, drums, reading, and riding horses. Kaitlyn is an only child with a dog named Artemis and 3 horses named Zephyr, Apollo, and Daisy. She also has two cats and a Great Dane. Lyla has a jam-packed schedule; she’s in track, soccer, and volleyball, and enjoys art, hiking, biking, and fishing. She also has a very cute, fuzzy husky named Ozzy (after Ozzy Osbourne because her family is awesome sauce). Along with performing, Alice also loves figure skating, art, volleyball, video games, biking, running, listening to music, and eating - especially her favorite food pickles.

Stephanie has been involved in Shade Tree Players since 2013. She is originally from South Dakota and works for Mandan Public Schools as a band director. In addition to theater, Stephanie enjoys spending time with her husband Adam, son Tobias, daughter Josephine, and family and friends. She is also involved in the Bis-Man Civic Chorus, plays clarinet with the Bis-Man Wind Ensemble, and is involved in her church. She enjoys theatre, being part of the Central Dakota Children’s Choir, and being active in the Girl Scouts. Zoey will be going into the 7th grade at Simle Middle School. This is her 2nd year in Shade Tree. She was previously in Robin Hood with Shade Tree Players. Zoey enjoys dancing with Just For Kix and playing both the string and electric bass in orchestra. She would like to thank her family for encouraging and supporting her.

This is Millie’s second time stage managing, and she is very excited! She just completed her freshman year at BSC. Her previous show credits include “Descendants: The Musical”, “The Pajama Game”, and “The House at Pooh Corner” with Shade Tree Players, “The Nutcracker”, “Beauty and the Beast”, and “Snow White” with Northern Plains Dance, “15 Minute Hamlet” with Capitol Shakespeare’s Young Bards, and “A Year with Frog and Toad”, “Tiny Beautiful Things”, and “Xanadu” with BSC Theatre. Millie would like to thank her parents and her sister Maddie for their support and would like to say that she is extremely impressed by the work of the cast and crew in creating this awesome show.

Maria Roll-Schlecht has been a part of Shade Tree Players for the past 16 years as a musical director, choreographer, and instructor of classes. She has been the director for several shows for Dakota Stage and has been seen on stage performing in the DSL musicals, “Bonnie and Clyde” and “The Addams Family”. Maria instructed music for 30 years in the Mandan Public Schools. She now keeps busy giving private voice lessons, serving on the Board of the Central Dakota Children’s Choirs, a member of the Dakota Stage/ Shade Tree Players committee, singing in the Bismarck-Mandan Civic Chorus, and playing in the group #ukuMondays. Maria wants to send a special THANK YOU to her family and friends who have supported her in all her musical endeavors!
