Main Stage

Auditions for our 5 annual community productions are typically held 2 months prior to performances. A wide range of ages are needed each year, from 8 to 80, all are welcome! Age is a number and the age ranges here are broad purposefully. Directors cast based on multiple factors, regardless of the ages suggested by the script. If you are passionate about a role or the show, audition regardless of your age! No experience or preparation is necessary for play auditions. For musical auditions, please prepare a song or at least 16 bars of a song. Some scripts may be available for review, to check availability please email us or call 701-258-4998.

Shade Tree Players

Conservatory Program

Auditions for the Summer Conservatory Program, ages 13-18, are held in February and March of each year. For play auditions, no preparations are needed. For musical auditions, participants should prepare a song or a portion of a song for a vocal audition. Any song will work, even “Happy Birthday.”

Academy Program

The Summer Academy Program, ages 7-13, does not require auditions. Parents can sign their children up for a session that works best for their schedule. Registrations are accepted until rehearsals begin, but space is limited. Sessions may close out if they reach maximum participation.
