Payton Gray

Alice #3, Ensemble

Payton Gray 16 years of age, going into Junior year at Mandan High School. She started theater last fall. Her favorite roles consist of Elsa Vongrosenkanuten from Musical Comedy Murders of The 1940’s and Lady-in-Waiting from Between The Lines. Her favorite memory from theater was when she filled in at the last minute for Musical Comedy Murders of The 1940’s, as she found many new friends and longstanding friendships. Apart from theater she is a very decorated student at Mandan High School, for she is in not only theater but various clubs. From DECA all the way to Speech, she is well diversified herself as a student.

Allison Throlson

Queen of Hearts

Allison is going to be a Senior at Shiloh Christian School. She has been in theater for five years, enjoying all aspects. Her most recent shows and roles were light board operator for Shiloh’s production of Bye Bye Birdie, Assistant Stage Manager in Dickens’ Christmas Carol at Dakota Stage, and Mrs. Goudsmit in Shiloh’s one-act production of The Strength of Our Spirit. In her free time, she is currently working at the ESP program at Shiloh. She would like to thank the cast and production team for making this show possible, as well as her family and friends for their support.

Ella Patera

Alice #2

Ella Patera is currently 16 years old, and is entering her Junior year of High school at Mandan High. She has been doing theatre since 2017, and has been in approximately 12 productions since then. Her favorite roles consist of Mal in Descendants the Musical, Annie in Annie the Musical, and Helga in The Musical Comedy Murders of 1940.

Lily Combs

Fish Footman, 3rd Of Hearts, Understudy Alice #9

Lily is 14 years old and a pisces. She goes to horizon middle school. Lily has been in Shade Tree for 3 years and has been in Rumplestilskin PI as the worried pig, Robin Hood as the Police Chief’s Daughter, and in her last show The Big Bad Wolf in Channeling Grimm. Lily also has a hedgehog at home that she loves named microwave!

Ian Combs

TweedleDum

Ian is 15 years old and has been in theatre for 5 years. His favourite roles have included the Assistant Manager in Just Another High School Play, Michael in Elf the Musical, and J. Finch Fletchley in Puffs. He is involved in speech, debate and student congress and loves public speaking. In addition to that, he loves cats including his three kitties, Jester, Lolo and Tilly.

MaeBelle Oxendahl

Alice #4, Oyster, Featured Dancer

MaeBelle Oxendahl is a 16 year old girl at Century High School. She has been in theater since her 8th grade year. Along with this show she was also involved in her schools One Act Play “There is no play” as Arden’s mom, her midwinter called “WCKY” as Veronica, and helped with tech for Dakota Stages show “A Dickens Christmas Carol”. She has a dog and two cats named Branch, Poppy, and Kyo. She is excited for the opportunity to be part of our production of Alice in Wonderland!

Molly Chase

Duck/Eight Of Hearts/Alice #8 Understudy

Molly is 14 years old. Molly is going to be a Freshman at Mandan High School. This will be Molly’s 5th production with Shade Tree. Molly has been in Big Bad Musical as a Wolfette, Robin Hood as Friar Tuck, How I Became a Pirate as ensemble, and various roles in Channeling Grimm. Molly plays the French Horn and was in Jr.High All-State. She also loves to watch UND hockey, watch Gilmore Girls, and loves to read. She would like to thank her family and her best friend for helping her with everything.

Anna Nachatlio

Red Queen

Anna is 15 years old and has recently graduated Freshman year in High School despite the… intensity of expectations. She has just started participating in Shade Tree this summer! Besides this new horizon, Anna has done theater programs connected to schools since 8th grade–being the Fairy Forkmother in Edwina, an ensemble member in Annie, and being Chris (Understudy) in The Play that Goes Wrong. Anna is also a visual artist as well as a singer, a voice actress (for fun!) and a very-specific-media-enthusiast.

Kara Milakovic

Alice #1 and Featured Dancer

Kara is 14 years old, and she is an 8th grader at St. Mary’s Academy. She has been involved with Shade Tree for 5 years. Previous shows she has been in include a crab in Rainbow Fish, Fairy Godmother in The Big Bad Musical, Lady Merle in Robin Hood, Swill in How I Became a Pirate, Cameron in Channeling Grimm, and an ensemble member in Percy Jackson. In Kara’s free time she loves to dance and choreograph solos for future competitions.

Josie Hanson

Josie Hanson is 16, and she will be a Sophomore at Century High School. And has been in Theater for 11 years and has done Shade tree for 8 years. Her more recent roles have been Ensemble in "There is no play" and her last year's production of "Just Another High School Play" as Stage Manager. Josie enjoys her time outside and hanging out with friends during the summer. She would also like to Thank the cast and crew for this amazing production!

Zach Pieske

Frog Footman, King of Hearts Understudy

He will become a junior at Bismarck High School this fall. He has been in Shade Tree for 5 years. His 3 most recent shows, from earliest to most recent, is Rumpelstiltskin: Private Eye as the Fairy Godfather, Puffs as the Fat Friar, Mr. Bagman, Professor Locky, and a Smart Student, and Just Another High School Play as Male Meg, a grad student, David Copperfield, and Rabbi Laurence. He likes Minnesota sports and has two dogs. He would like to thank his parents for this great opportunity.

Klara Dickhut

Alice #7, Dancer

Klara is going into 8th grade at St.Mary's Academy. This is her fifth year in Shade Tree. The past three Shade Tree shows she has been in are Star Warts as Luke Warmwater, Channeling Grim as Jamie, and Robin Hood as Annabel. She also does ballet with Northern Plains Dance and has been in one production with BSC theater. :)

Abby Willenbring

Alice #8

Abby is 16 years old. This is her first year doing Shade Tree, but she has been involved in theater for 6 years. Her three favorite roles have been Health Inspector in The Three Messed-Up Pigs, Queen Victoria in Mary Poppins, and Zephra (Zach) in In Bethlehem Inn. She likes playing tennis with her dad.

Katie Tschaekofske

Katie Tschaekofske is a 15 year old girl who attends school at Century High School. She is a very spontaneous and eccentric person who loves music. She self teaches herself to play many instruments and is also in a super cool band called Jimmy and the Pickle. Katie has been participating in various theater opportunities at HMS and CHS and is lucky to enjoy her second year with Shade Tree. Katie loves horror movies and podcasts and her favorite horror movie franchise is Saw.

Maddux Bryhn

King of Hearts

Maddux is a 16-year old thespian, who is excited to be here! Maddux has been in many plays, and Alice in Wonderland marks his sixth year with Shade Tree. His most recent shows include ‘There is No Play’, ‘WCKY’, and ‘Dickens’ Christmas Carol’. Maddux also enjoys debate, creative writing, and spending time with family. Enjoy the show!

Zoey Suggs

Two Of Spades, Duchess Understudy, Featured Dancer

Zoey is 13 years old and going into 8th grade. She has been in Shade Tree for 3 years and has previously been the Sheriff's Wife in Robin Hood and Daft Ada in StarWarts. However, she also does school theatre and her favorite role from that has definitely been Albert in the show Newsies. A fun fact about Zoey is that she has been dancing for 7 years.

Reagen Fode

Alice 9, Ace of Hearts

I am Reagen Fode. I am 17 years old and have been in theater since the third grade meaning nine years of my life has been dedicated to the stage where I fell in love with the art of acting. I have continued to do shows in and out of school where I have found most of not all of my friends. I have filled many different roles from West in the Wizard of Oz Deleted Scenes to Mary Warren from The Crucible. Now Alice 9 is another role to add upon the madness of scripts and cast lists.

Jace Brannan-Jorgensen

Humpty Dumpty

Jace is an awesome 16-year-old fine arts enthusiast, from Century High school. Alice in Wonderland marks Jace's fourth incredible summer with Shade Tree. Jace most recently enjoyed being in production of There is No Play by Arthur Jolly for the Class A One Act Competition. When not on stage, Jace enjoys the company of his beautiful five-year-old cat, Pica, and his growing library of Agatha Christie books. Jace would quickly like to give a heartfelt thank you to Amanda Perry for her unwavering support, love, and the perseverance she brings to the theater. Enjoy the show!

Maren Francetich

March Hare

Maren is 16 and will be a junior at Century High School. This is her second year in Shade Tree but she has been in theatre for 4 years now. Recent roles: Tech for Century's one-act play "There is No Play" and Slim in Century's midwinter play "WCKY". Maren is excited to be playing the March Hare as her favorite movie is Tim Burton's "Alice In Wonderland". During her free time she likes doing arts and crafts, hanging out with friends, and playing with her three pet rats.

Addyson Jeffers

Tweedledee

This is only Addy’s second show at Shade Tree, but she is so excited to be a part of the show and work with such a talented cast and crew. When not performing on stage, she enjoys spending time with her friends and playing video games. After she graduates from high school next year, she plans to go cosmetology school and become a hair stylist. She most recently performed in Century’s One-Act and Midwinter plays, There is No Play, One Stoplight Town, and WCKY.

Eva Brooke

Eva Brooke is 15 years of age, she is a sophomore at St. Mary’s High School. Eva has been with Shade Tree since she was seven years old, she also performs in plays at her High School. Her favorite roles have been: Glinda the Good Witch, Leanne, and an Improv Actor for a recent play. Eva enjoys reading and writing. She would like to say a special thank you to her mother and father for funding and supporting her theatre journey.

Julia Hanson

White Queen

Celebrating her 10th show with the Shade Tree community. Julia, a recent Century High School graduate, looks forward to a summer filled with friends, family, and a trip to Texas after this season. She will be attending the University of Jamestown in the fall for History Education and Theater Arts. Surrounded by beloved animals, including her cat Elliott, and supported by her younger sister, Josie, Julia extends her gratitude to her family and best wishes to Josie, her partner in water fights and Taco Bell adventures.

Charley is 14 yrs old. This is her second year with Shade Tree. Last summer Charley played five roles in Channeling Grimm. Those roles include Gingerbread Man, Pig, Jamie, Puss in Boots, and King Judge. A fun fact about Charley is that she has a cat with a bladder stone. *epic outro music starts*.

Tracy Jo Moch

Tracy is 13, and this is her 2nd year of Shade Tree. She was Zeus and a camper in the Percy Jackson Musical, and she was in the State Spelling Bee and Science Fair. She has 4 cats and loves art, especially making cardboard sculptures of animals.

Johanna Moch

Johanna is 14, she has been involved in shade tree for two years, and has played Kurt Cobain and a nymph in the Percy Jackson Musical. She works as a librarian.

Jazzy is 14. She has been involved in Shade Tree for 2 years. She’s been involved in Strength of Our Spirit as ensemble, Channeling Grimm as various roles, and Once Upon a Mattress as Princess #12. She likes cookies.

Emma Mills

Emma is going into 8th grade. She has been involved in four Shade Tree productions: The Big Bad Musical, Robin Hood, Channing Grimm, and StarWarts. This year she will be in two more: Alice In Wonderland and Imagine a Dragon. She also does many other activities such as BMX, Soccer, dance, Volleyball, etc… She would like to thank her mom, dad, grandma, Nolan, Gloria, and Kinley.

Cambrielle Bryhn is 13 years old. She has been involved in Shade Tree and theater for 5 years, and this is her 10th show. Her top 3 favorite shows she’s been in and roles she’s played include Robin Hood (Robin), Channeling Grimm (Bunion), and Beauty and the Beast Jr. (narrator). She is also involved in ballet and Alice is her dream role which she is so excited to perform!

Emma Hexom is 14 and is going into 9th grade. She’s been in 2 other Shade Tree shows, Robin Hood, where she played as Mariam and Channeling Grimm which she played various roles in, and one School musical, Once Upon a Mattress as ensemble. She was also seen in one The One Act play called Strength of the Spirit and played as ensemble and a young girl. She likes reptiles and rodents. Her favorite hobby is to draw, paint, and sculpt.

Christine is 15 years old and going into Sophomore year of high-school. She has been a part of Shade Tree for 6 years and been a part of 6 productions including Robin Hood, Wizard of Oz: Deleted Scene, Best of Both Worlds, and many more. She loves reading, drawing, and listening to music.

Kennedy is 14, and has been doing theatre for five years. She was in Robin Hood, the Percy Jackson Musical, and now Alice in Wonderland. Some of her favorite parts were Drowsy, DJ Cerberus, and Will Scarlet. She enjoys hanging out with friends, reading, and playing French horn.

Kenleigh is starting seventh grade in the fall. She has been involved in theatre for six years and some of her most recent shows are BSC’s Anastasia, Sleepy Hollow’s Cinderella, and Frostfire’s Sound of Music. Her favorite part of theatre is singing.

Cooper is a 15 year old man currently attending Century High School. He is a multi-instrumentalist who is in the band “Jimmy and The Pickles”. This is his first year participating in Shade Tree and is exhilarated for the opportunity to act. His characters include one of the three jabberwocky actors, one of the raindrops, and the cook.

Kaitlin has been in theatre for two years. Two of her favorite shows were Robin Hood, where she played Jill Scarlet and Just Another High School Play, where she played a narrator. She is very excited to be participating in this play.

Camrin is 18, and just graduated century high school. This is his first show with Shade Tree. He has been in theater for 5 years and most recently has done one stop light town, Elf the musical, and There is no play. His roles were Clarance, Mr. Greenway, and Ensemble Parent. He likes to play guitar and does animation in his free time. “Megatron”

Garrison is a junior at Century High School. His three most recent roles were Arden in "There Is No Play", Little Kid in "One Stoplight Town", and Officer Green in "WCKY". Gary is an avid Yo-Yo-er.

Zoe is going to be a junior in high school. She was in “How I Became a Pirate” in 8th grade. The three shows she’s been in so far are Singing in the Rain, How I Became a Pirate, and Alice in Wonderland.

Hailey Fleck is 13 years old. She has been in Shade Tree for four years. Here are the shows that she has done in the order of her favorites, #1 Robin Hood in which she played Lady Merle #2 was Channeling Grimm in which she was Cinderella and Princess Astrid, and #3 being Rumplstiltskin which she was Snow White. Outside of the theater Hailey enjoys figure skating.

Lizzy Crowe is 17 years old and a senior in high school. This is her first year doing theatre.

Aspen has participated in Shade Tree for many years. Some of their favorite hobbies are spending time with friends and family, doing Arts 🖼️ and Crafts, and listening to music. 🎧.

Jazi Negron

Jazi is going into 7th grade. Some roles they have done is Cheshire Cat understudy, Baby Pig, Cat, and a card.This is her first year in Shade Tree, she likes to do art and music.

Amanda Perry

Director

Amanda Perry has worked with Dakota Stage/Shade Tree Players as a director, educator, costumer, artist and actor for over 20 years, bringing diverse plays, musicals, classes and other unique theatrical experiences for all ages to the community! She is also honored to be the current Artistic Director of Dakota Stage. She is a graduate of Drake University in Des Moines, IA, and has a BFA in Theatre Performance, with emphasis in acting, directing and design.

In her career, Amanda has worked with many different arts and education organizations to educate students, train actors and directors, and create unique theatrical productions and other artistic events and opportunities. She has directed over 60 plays and musicals, most recently the DSL productions of A Dusty Echo, The Underpants, Sweeney Todd and The Crucible. Amanda also specializes in children’s theatre, and has directed many of her own adaptations of Shakespeare’s plays. She recently directed Puffs and Just Another High School Play with Shade Tree Players.

Amanda has two children, Oliver, 10, and Willow, 6, who will undoubtedly be very involved with theatre, music and art as they grow up! Amanda would like to thank her amazing husband for all he does while she is at rehearsal, and the cast and crew for all their hard work!

Lex Belile

Stage Manager

Lex Belile is the current Administrative Assistant for Dakota Stage, and has been involved in theatre with Shade Tree and Dakota Stage since 2010. Her most recent shows include: Carrie (ensemble), Church Basement Ladies (Stage Manager), The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical (Choreographer), The Crucible (ensemble), Beetlejuice Jr. in New Salem (choreographer), and Suite Surrender (Stage Manager). She also has a double masters degree in Business Administration and Philosophy, and currently teaches at BSC.
