This course equips students with techniques to create character and special effects makeup for theater.
Students will learn and practice the art of application, utilizing proper placement, coloration and
blending to create realistic characters and effects. In the spirit of Halloween, we will demonstrate
various old age, trauma, monster and zombie makeup techniques. Students will learn how to apply to
themselves, and how to draw their own makeup designs. We highly recommend purchasing personal
makeup kits (see information below), as these kits can be taken home and used for years to come for
other makeup classes and plays. Limited shared makeup will also be available to those who do not
purchase a kit.

Time/Dates: Thursdays, 6:00-7:30pm, September 19-October 10, 2024, at High Prairie Arts
and Science Complex (Dressing Room), 1810 Schafer Street, Bismarck
Ages: 9 yrs -18 yrs
