Shade Tree Players

Shade Tree July 4th Parade

We have changed our participation guidelines, so please read carefully!

Children under the age of 10 may only participate if accompanied by an adult.

We can only have 40 participants ride back on the float. Therefore, prior signups are mandatory, and when full, we cannot accept any more.

There will be extra slots for those who choose to leave our float at the end of the parade (Ohm’s Café) and get their own ride from there.

If your child plans to attend, please read this document in entirety, then print, sign, and date the bottom.

  1. All participants must sign the City of Mandan waiver, as well as this document. Please also see the drop off area for the staging area. Parking information will be forthcoming.
  2. All participants will be expected to be on their best behavior, follow instructions, and heed the adult chaperones at all times. While on the float, participants will treat each other respectfully, not roughhouse, and keep their bodies entirely on the float.
  3. Participants must sign up by July 1 at https://dakotastage.org/parade in order to participate and you MUST sign this agreement and turn it in by July 1. There are a limited number of spots available in order to ensure your children’s safety.
  4. Participants need to arrive at 8:30 a.m. at the staging location if they want to decorate the float (ages 10+). Otherwise, they should arrive at 9 a.m. Our float number will be announced to you by email as soon as we have it. More information and a map will be provided prior to the event.
  5. Parents should ensure their children are fed, hydrated, and have applied sunscreen prior to arriving at the event. STP will provide water, but children should bring their own beverages and snacks. Please make sure they have their names on any items they bring with them. We will have a cooler on the float where they can put their items.
  6. Shade Tree participants will wear their Shade Tree show t-shirt. If they don’t have it yet, they will be given theirs on the day of the parade.
  7. Unless participants are exiting at the end of the parade, please pick them up at the staging area by 1 p.m. Please communicate with STP representatives if someone other than the person who dropped them off will pick up their child.
  8. A limited number of parent volunteers are needed. This event will not count toward STP volunteer hours, but it is fun, rewarding, and an excellent opportunity to get the word out about our wonderful program!

No volunteer opportunities at this time.
